1 – DRAPE YOUR OWN PATTERN
Day 1- Learn to drape fabric directly on a dress form or body, following the demonstration of various draping techniques by Linda. Participants will work in pairs, using muslin or other woven fabric, to make a basic bodice, with a variety of collars and sleeves. This ‘toile’ is then transferred to make a flat paper pattern. Variations to this basic pattern will enable participants to create other styles.

Day 2 – Participants will work with their own fabric to create a style and with Linda’s supervision, will learn how to properly mark, transfer to paper, label and make a paper pattern. These garments can then be stitched together and presented to the other participants in an informal fashion show. Fun!

This two day course was eye opening.I felt that your technique helped me really understand how a garment should fit. It’s so easy to doubt myself but I have learned to be more confident with my work and follow through. Thank you for being patient with me and I know that I have so much more to learn and explore.
Joanna- An aspiring Designer, Joanna postponed her dream of attending college for Fashion Design and now wants to ‘fast track’ her learning to realize her goal of creating her own collection.

2-Make Your BODY DOUBLE:
In this 1 day workshop which precedes ‘Drape Your Own Pattern’ Linda will make an exact duplicate of your body, with a removable arm, fixed leg, rolling base, height adjustability and light weight. This exact replica of your body helps you to make styles that will fit you.

Supplies will be provided, and Linda will make sure that you come away with an exact BODY DOUBLE to use in the Draping workshop.

I now understand what a proper fit looks like, so even if I buy off the rack, I know what to look for.

3- FABRIC MAKING TECHNIQUES
A one day workshop in which participants will learn various techniques to create their own fabric using a combination of existing fabric, sentimental garments, scarves, ribbons, yarn or o ther materials which will then be ‘repurposed’ to make a new creation. Ex. decorative pillows, vests, runners, scarves etc. Various painting, drawing and dyeing techniques will be introduced.

4. CUSTOMIZED WORKSHOPS
For example; a seminar on the Fashion/Apparel Industry was customized for a group where everyone had a passion for fashion, and wanted to learn more about the possible careers.
